Travel Photo with Colleen

The Travel Photo class has been busy!! On our first day students got right to work and practiced shooting in the center of Florence ~ learning and using all of the different features on our cameras. We braved the 400+ stair climb to the top of the Giotto’s Bell Tower in the Piazza del Duomo for breathtaking views of the city. We spent our morning in Rome exploring the Colosseum and the surrounding ruins while practicing both traditional and abstract photography. Students spent the afternoon shooting a portrait assignment around the fountains in Piazza Navona followed by an amazing visit to the Pantheon. We ended the day with a cup very well deserved cold gelato after our day in the sun.

Back in Florence we captured images of Michelangelo’s sculptures, including the famous David and his sculptures within the Medici Chapel. In addition to daily assignments, each student is working on personal photo project to display at the end of the program in a celebratory photo show. We are looking forward to more shooting and even more exploring next week!!!
